Announcement on the organization of education in the winter semester of the academic year 2020/2021.
In connection with the upcoming new academic year 2020/2021 and the current situation related to the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, we would like to inform you that the Rector of the Nicolaus Copernicus University, in order to ensure the safety of the academic community, has decided that the teaching activities at the University, postgraduate and doctoral schools and other forms of education in the Nicolaus Copernicus University in the winter semester of the academic year 2020/2021 will be, in principle, carried out in a distant mode.
With regard to teaching activities other than lectures, which due to their specificity or for other important reasons cannot take place over the Internet, the Dean, and in doctoral schools, the Director of the doctoral school, may decide to conduct them in the winter semester of the academic year 2020/2021 in the traditional form in the buildings of the University in accordance with the principles of safety and sanitary regime. The information about the classes that have been indicated for realization in the traditional form in the buildings of the Nicolaus Copernicus University will be published by September 15, 2020 on the faculty's website and in case of doctoral schools on the website of the doctoral school. The final schedule of classes will be published on the aforementioned websites by September 21. Teaching activities to be carried out in the traditional form will be scheduled on days other than the distant classes.
We would also like to inform that the student halls of residence will be open and accessible to students. Similarly, the buildings of the University will be open and accessible to students and the NCU staff. We would also like to inform you that matriculation in the academic year 2020/2021 should be planned in compliance with the sanitary regime, it is also possible to organize informational meetings for the first year students in compliance with the safety and sanitary regime. However, the formal graduation ceremony will not take place in the traditional form.
The organization of the academic year 2020/2021 was set out in the Order No. 117 of the NCU Rector of 29 May 2020.
