Archive Sciences and Records Management
Enter a world that speaks more than you think
Since the dawn of time, people have recorded their thoughts and achievements – once through writing, later through image and sound, and today through binary code and cloud computing. Regardless of their form, documents have one place in common – archives, the very places that preserve history and organise the present.
Studying Archive Sciences and Records Management at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, will give you the key to this fascinating world. You will acquire knowledge as well as practical skills to enable you to efficiently navigate the world of institutions, offices, companies, and digital databases.
What will you learn?
You will discover how modern archives operate and how records are managed – from traditional documents to digital data. We will teach you how to effectively search for, analyse, and interpret information, including how to ‘read between the lines’.
You will learn:
- How administrative work looks from the inside,
- How to use modern office tools and equipment,
- How to organise document flow within an institution – from creation to archiving,
- Why records management is not just a technique, but also a responsibility.
We combine theory with practice – because only by understanding why we do what we do can we properly answer how to do it best.
